MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable service to all customers.
  • Receives written prescriptions or telephoned refill requests, and verifies that the information is complete and accurate before processing.
  • Assists the Pharmacist with the processing and dispensing of medication in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Assesses the customers’ needs and refers the customers to the Pharmacist as required where further advice on medications, treatments or medical conditions is needed..
  • Stores all relevant forms in an efficient manner after prescriptions are dispensed, including, but not limited to, CDAP forms; 3rd Party Insurance forms; Narcotic/Controlled/Antibiotic/Regular prescriptions.
  • Executes point of sale transactions in an accurate and efficient manner.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Five (5) O’ level passes including Mathematics, English and/or Chemistry/Biology
  • Computer Literacy
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • 2 years previous retail Pharmacy and/or customer service experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides exceptional customer service to SuperPharm’s customers.
  • Provides primary health care advice and support, and educates customers on health promotion, disease prevention and the proper use of medicines.
  • Supervises Dispensary staff.
  • Prepares and/ or overseas the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medical practitioners; makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
  • Counsels patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/ contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
  • Provides guidance and training to pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians during course of work and motors performance.
  • Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and record keeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/ or infection control standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Assists in the merchandising, (including shelf tags, price tags) stacking and displaying items for sale as per SPL standards.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy and / or Diploma in Pharmacy
  • Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Trinidad & Tobago.

JOB SUMMARY

  • The role requires the incumbent to efficiently oversee the day-to-day operations and profitable growth of his/her assigned dispensary.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Manages and schedules the Dispensary team so that the Pharmacy is always functioning at an optimal level.
  • Ensures that customers consistently receive friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service.
  • Upholds service standards for counseling, dispensing, pricing, licensing, and managing inventory and record keeping.
  • Prepares quarterly reports and other reports as directed by Executive Management.
  • Keeps current with new pharmacy trends, drug updates and practices.
  • Implements policies and key strategies to achieve financial and professional success.
  • Participates in the recruitment, selection and hiring of Pharmacy Technicians.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Trinidad &Tobago
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar work environment.
  • Ability to motivate team members in the execution of tasks and continuous development.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
